What Archon Is

Archon is a software platform that enables businesses ("Subscribers") to build and deploy AI-powered agents for customer communication, lead qualification, and sales automation. When you interact with a chat widget, receive a message, or have a conversation powered by Archon, you are interacting with an AI system — not a human employee.

You Are Talking to an AI

If you are an end customer interacting with an Archon-powered agent: the agent you are speaking with is an artificial intelligence system. It generates responses automatically based on the information it has been configured with by the business that deployed it. It is not a human being.

Archon-powered agents will not claim to be human. If you sincerely ask whether you are speaking to a human or an AI, the agent will identify itself as an AI. This is a requirement we impose on all businesses that use our platform.

How the AI Works

Archon agents operate using large language models (LLMs) — AI systems that can understand and generate human-like responses. The current AI provider powering Archon's inference is Groq. We plan to add OpenAI and Anthropic as additional providers.

Each agent is configured by the business that deployed it. The agent's behaviour, tone, knowledge, and scope are determined by that business — not by Archon. If you have concerns about how a specific agent behaves, contact the business that deployed it.

Limitations of AI

AI systems have inherent limitations. Archon-powered agents may:

  • Make mistakes. AI-generated responses can be inaccurate, incomplete, or occasionally irrelevant. Do not make significant financial, legal, medical, or personal decisions based solely on information provided by an AI agent.
  • Lack real-time information. Agents only know what their operator has provided in their knowledge base, plus the context of your current conversation.
  • Misunderstand context. AI can misinterpret nuanced, ambiguous, or emotionally complex messages.
  • Not replace professional advice. An Archon-powered agent is not a licensed professional. Nothing communicated by an Archon agent constitutes legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice.

For Archon Subscribers

When you deploy Archon agents, you are responsible for:

Disclosure to your end customers

You must ensure your end customers are informed they are interacting with an AI, where required by applicable law. This includes any EU jurisdiction subject to the EU AI Act transparency obligations, US states with AI disclosure requirements (e.g. California), and any other jurisdiction with applicable requirements.

Accuracy of agent responses

You control the knowledge base and instructions your agent uses. You are responsible for ensuring the information your agents provide is accurate, not misleading, and compliant with applicable advertising and consumer protection laws.

Monitoring and escalation

Archon provides an escalation mechanism that routes low-confidence or sensitive conversations to human review. You should actively use this feature. You remain responsible for the outcomes of conversations your agents handle.

Professional services

If your business involves regulated services (financial advice, legal services, healthcare), ensure your agents clearly disclaim that they do not provide professional advice and direct end customers to qualified professionals.

Data Use in AI Processing

Conversation content is processed by AI language models to generate responses. This means conversation data is transmitted to Archon's AI sub-processors (currently Groq). Please review our Privacy Policy for full details on how conversation data is handled.
